Virtues of Leaderschip to remember

There are some key virtues of an effective meeting leadership, which – together with the preparation – will almost guarantee an effective and successful meeting.

  • Welcome doubts and questions.
  • Listen actively.
  • Reserve judgment and keep an open mind.
  • Visualize contributions of participants.
  • Have your eye on the meeting’s objective.

I call them “virtues‿ since they are more than techniques, they are related to attitude. And attitudes change slowly, especially one’s own attitude.

I am afraid, that attitude cannot be changed through intellectual penetration of the task, but only through practice and exercise - both being regularly reflected and developed.
